Midwest Roundup - Week 1

NCAC

North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC)

Men

Kenyon and Ohio Wesleyan are a perfect 3-0-0 to start the year, while Denison, DePauw, and Wabash are all 2-0-0 having started the year unblemished.

Notable wins included Kenyon beating Otterbein and Ohio Wesleyan beating Kalamazoo.

Player of the Week: F - Tony Amolo (Jr.) - Kenyon

Women

Only the Big Red of Denison remain unscathed after Week 1, winning all three of their games against John Carroll, Mount Union, and Hanover.

At 2-1-0, Wittenberg sit alone in second place in the early season standings.

Men

Favorites Westminster (Mo.) are tied with Spalding at the top of the standings after Week 1, both with 2-1-0 records.

Westminster (Mo.) took down Illinois and Lakeland after losing to Millikin. Meanwhile, Spalding bounced back from a season-opening loss to Mt. St. Joseph to beat LaGrange and Huntingdon.

Women

Four teams have 2-1-0 records to start the season and are all tied at the top of the leaderboard – Fontbonne, MacMurray, Spalding, and Westminster (Mo.).

Favorites Webster are 1-2-0, losing to two tough opponents in Franklin and Rose-Hulman.

Men

Birmingham-Southern is a perfect 3-0-0 after Week 1 of the regular season. The Panthers swept their slate of games against Huntingdon, Wilmington, and Louisiana.

Millsaps has a winning record at 2-1-0 and sits in second place. They earned wins versus Louisiana and Wilmington, their only Division III opposition last week.

Women

Coming off their best season in program history, including a trip to the Elite Eight, Centre has started the year strongly, going 3-0-0 with convincing wins over Rose-Hulman, Transylvania, and Ohio Wesleyan

Birmingham-Southern, Hendrix, and Rhodes are each 2-1-0 entering the second week.
