Engstrom Game-Winner Leads Bears Past Emerson

BOSTON, Mass.-- Junior Noah Engstrom scored the lone goal to lead Coast Guard men's soccer to a 1-0 victory in their New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) regular-season finale. The Bears end the regular season at 11-4-1 overall and 4-3 in the conference, while Emerson ends the season at 3-11-2 overall and 0-7 in the NEWMAC.

Coast Guard has secured a home quarterfinal game as the fourth seed in the NEWMAC postseason tournament and will host fifth seeded WPI on Tuesday night at 6:00.

In the 16th minute, Engstrom put away his fifth goal of the season, third game-winner, with help from senior Gabriel Gallant.

The Bears outshot the Lions 14-1 and had a 4-0 advantage in corner kicks.

Coast Guard sophomore goalkeeper Josh Hudson earned the shutout and improved to 5-2 on the season.
