Three different players scored as Medaille defeated Alfred State 3-0 on Thursday afternoon. The Mavericks improve to 4-3-2 on the year.
Marc Whyte scored late in the 1st half (42:18) after getting a pass from Taylor Chauhud. Cameron Steer made it 2-0 in the 61st minute when he capitalized on a penalty kick and Mitchell Ali added an insurance goal in the 70th minute after getting a pass from David Cloy.
Medaille held a 18 to 8 shot advantage in the contest including a 10-4 advantage in the 2nd half. Nico Coria (Honeoye Falls Lima) made seven saves while Matthew Gabalski and Marcus Escobar combined for the shutout for the Mavs.
The Pioneers return home for the first time since the opening match of the season on Saturday. They battle Pine Manor College at 3 p.m. (Please note the new time of the match).
