BEREA — The Ohio Northern men's soccer team had a successful trip to Baldwin Wallace on Wednesday, securing a 2-0 victory at George Finnie Stadium.
The Polar Bears are now 6-4-2 overall and 1-1-0 in the Ohio Athletic Conference. The loss dropped the Yellow Jackets to 6-6-1 overall and 0-2-0 in conference play.
ONU scored both of its goals in the first half, and they came courtesy of unassisted shots from senior Cameron Picard (Dayton/Wayne) and freshman Trevor Tabb (Toledo/Springfield).
Senior goalkeeper John Lombardo (Solon) made one save in securing his fourth shutout of the season and 20th of his career.
Senior Bryan Kern (Rocky River) attempted a game-high seven shots in the game to go with four from senior Levi King (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central).
The Polar Bears didn't waste much time in getting on the scoreboard, as Picard's goal, his second of the season, came just 9:31 into the contest.
ONU held that 1-0 lead until late in the first half when Tabb scored his team-high seventh goal of the season to make it 2-0 with 2:03 left before halftime.
Tabb's seven goals are tied for second-most in the OAC.
