MEADVILLE, Pa. – #5 Bethany College faced #4 Allegheny College in the PAC quarterfinal match Saturday afternoon. The Bison edged the Gators, 1-0 to advance to the next round.
THE HIGHLIGHTS
- In the 13th minute of the match, Bethany's Fausto Gionchetti crossed the ball to Arnold Fontas-Candida who then found the back of the net off of a header.
MATCH NOTES
- The Bison held the slight shot advantage over the Gators, 18-16.
- Both teams were even on corner kicks with the Bison taking a slight 6-5 advantage.
- Adis Salihovic registered six saves for his fifth shutout of the season.
- The Bison have won two-straight PAC quarterfinal matches as the number five seed.
