Wildcats clip Seahawks, 2-0, in women's soccer

Seahawks remain fit to be tied after a 1-1 draw in Bristol.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Graduate student Jordan Restivo and junior Hayley Viebrock each scored goals for the Johnson & Wales (RI) University women's soccer team in a 2-0 win over Salve Regina University Saturday afternoon in non-conference action at the Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletic Complex.

Junior Trina Capezza added a pair of assists for the Wildcats, who evened their record at 1-0-0 this season. Restivo, meanwhile, also collected an assist and tied for the team lead with five shots.

Restivo staked the Wildcats to a 1-0 lead 19th minute when she launched a shot from the left side of the first that deflected off the Salve Regina keeper's hands and into the net. JWU doubled its lead in the second half when Viebrock polished off a cross from Restivo in the 57th minute.

Senior Shannon Stockero recorded three saves en route to earning her second collegiate shutout. Senior Georgia Drake (Plymouth, Mass.) stopped seven shots for the Seahawks. The Wildcats outshot the Seahawks 27-4.
