HAMBURG, N.Y. – Freshman goalie Tucker Reynolds had his hands full today as he and his Hilbert Hawks  battled the Presidents of Washington & Jefferson in the box all afternoon.   

Wash. & Jeff. (2-2) took a 4-0 non-conference road win over Hilbert in men's soccer as they attacked the frame non-stop after the opening kick.

Reynolds was credited with 16 saves, 11 in the second stanza.   The Presidents held an 11-2 advantage in corner kicks, but did not convert any scores from the end line.

The Hawks gave up two quick goals in the span of 82-seconds and trailed 2-0 by the 8th minute of the game.   Both teams played even the rest of the first half.

Hilbert's depth began to show in the second period as the visitors went to their bench and used fresh legs to keep the pressure on the hosts.  W&J outshot Hilbert 29-5 after intermission and found two more markers in the 63rd and 76th minute.

Brandon Bundschuh, Brendan Boechel and Travis Hicks finished with one shot-on-goal each as Ryan Schupp joined the group with a single shot during the contest.

Hilbert (0-2) travels for their first road game this year when they play at Thiel College (7:30 pm) in a double header with the Hilbert women's teams September 13th.
