WHEATON, Ill. — The Ohio Northern women's soccer team played Pacific Lutheran (Wash.) to a 0-0 draw Friday night in the Wheaton (Ill.) Invitational at Joe Bean Stadium.
The Polar Bears (2-0-1 overall) held a 9-2 shot advantage over the Lutes (2-0-1 overall).
The Northern defense proved tough and did not allow a shot on goal, giving the Polar Bears a 5-0 advantage in shots on goal.
Sophomore Elizabeth Pierce (Liberty Township/Mount Notre Dame) led Northern with two shots, both of which were on goal.
Junior Jill Roberts (Bellbrook/Carroll) and sophomores Alexa Clampitt (Sterling Heights, Mich./Utica Academy for International Studies) and Alyssa Beckett (Monroe/Monroe) each added a shot on goal for the Polar Bears.
Senior keeper Becky Moss (Lebanon/Mount Notre Dame) played 90 shutout minutes in goal.
Friday's game marked the second shutout for Northern this season.
The Polar Bears will return to the field on Saturday to face Invitaitonal host Wheaton (Ill.) at 8 p.m.
