ST. PAUL, Minn.- The Macalester College men's soccer team beat Pomona-Pitzer today in double overtime today to win 1-0 and secure their second win of the season.
The Scots and the Sagehens played a defense match through the regular time with Macalester getting off eight shots against the Pomona-Pitzer defense. But neither team was able to break the deadlock and the game went into overtime.
In the first overtime, the Scots and the Sagehens were not able to produce any clear shots and neither team were able to create a shot.
But in the second overtime, Macalester scored the winning goal with five second left to go in the game. Sophomore
Theo Nsereko (Johnston, Iowa/Johnston) took the ball down the right side and crossed it low into the box where sophomore
Floyd Krom (Naaldwijk, Netherlands/ UWC-COSTA RICA) slotted it first time into the left corner of the goal.
Senior keeper Colton Wening (Bartlett, Ill./.South Elgin) had five saves on the game to keep Pomona-Pitzer off the score sheet

The Scots return to play away on Wednesday, Sept. 12, away at Hamline University in St. Paul, Minn. at 4:00 p.m.
