KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Olivet College women’s soccer team lost 2-1 to Kalamazoo College in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) contest this afternoon at MacKenzie Field.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Olivet College women's soccer team lost 2-1 to Kalamazoo College in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) contest this afternoon at MacKenzie Field.

- Records: Olivet 2-7-1 overall, 0-4-0 MIAA; Kalamazoo 5-4-2 overall, 2-2-0 MIAA
- The Comets took a 1-0 lead in the 26th minute. Off a free kick by freshman Jennie Underwood, senior Mary Mitchell headed the ball into the goal.
- The Hornets tied the game exactly six minutes later on a through ball at the top of the box.
- Neither team had any more scoring chances in the half, as the score remained 1-1 at halftime.
- A shot by Kalamazoo was saved by the sophomore goalkeeper Jordan Hartman but the rebound was gathered and sent into the net in the 54th minute.
- Olivet had a couple opportunities to level the score but one shot was blocked and the other was saved by the goalie.
- Olivet totaled four shots – one each for Mitchell, senior Kate McElhone, sophomore Elisabeth Perez Pablo and freshman Sydney Lynch.
- Hartman made six saves while playing all 90 minutes in between the pipes.
- Holly Bowling netted both goals.
- Sophia Timm-Blow recorded four of the 15 Kalamazoo shots.
- Lexi Nesbitt earned the win in goal, as she collected two saves in 90 minutes.
- The Comets are off until next Saturday, October 15, when they host Alma College. The game will be played under the lights at the Olivet Community Schools Stadium and kick-off at 7:30 p.m.
