NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. - The Spartans men's soccer team hosted Franklin College this evening at Spartan Stadium. Manchester displayed an offensive show beating the Griz 3-0.
The Spartans got ahead early thanks to a Noah Black (Swayzee, Ind/Mississnewa) throughball played to the feet of Ruben Gonzalez (Sylvania, Ohio/Sylvania Northview) who was able to finish to put Manchester up 1-0.
The second half opened with a Franklin hand ball in the box 4 minutes in. Junior Noah Black stepped up to the spot to slot home his 4th goal of the season and to push the Spartan lead further 2-0.
In the final minutes of the match Mason Douglas (Howe, Ind./Lakeland) forced a Franklin error. Douglas found himself one on one with the Grizzlies goalkeeper and was able to put the ball in the back of the net.
Manchester's defense earned another cleansheet on the evening. Aaron Ketchmark (Kouts, Ind./Kouts) earned his first career win on the evening. Ketchmark accumlated 3 saves on the night.
The Spartans will be back in action this Saturday as they will travel down Transylvania. The match is set to kickoff at 4:00 p.m.
