Hannah Lichtenstein joined the D3soccer.com staff during the 2018-19 season. She edits two of our weekly women's columns and blogs about her experiences playing semi-pro soccer. She has also contributed with previews and match recaps during the NCAA Tournament.
A 2018 graduate of Swarthmore College as a history major, Hannah was a four year starter for a very successful Garnet team with four year cumulative record of 60-18-5. During her time Swarthmore appeared in the NCAA tournament all four years advancing to Round 2 in 2016 and 2017 and the Elite Eight in 2015.
During her playing career she received many playing honors including Centennial Conference Rookie of the Year (2014); first team All-Centennial Conference three times (2014, 2015, 2016) and second team in 2017; Mid-Atlantic Region First Team (2015), Third Team (2016); and Jewish Sports Review All-American (2016)
It is not unusual for a recent college graduate to take a "gap year" before joining the adult world. Her "gap year" is a bit different than most and is very likely a highly rewarding one. Hannah is continuing her soccer playing career in Sweden with Enköpings Sportklubb.
