Upcoming Top Matches - Week2
Each Monday during the season we plan to highlight matches in the upcoming week (Monday through Sunday, between the teams believed to be stronger sides in Division III soccer. We will use Massey Ratings to identify these teams. There are two sections below:
- Matches where both sides are ranked in the top 25.
- Contests between teams ranked 1 through 75.
- Ratings are from Monday, September 6, using results through Sunday, September 5.
As you would expect, this early in the season team rankings, whether opinion poll or statistically generated, are obviously driven mostly by results from prior year(s). The preseason ratings used this week are based on recent history (2018,2019, 2020 if available) plus results from September 1 through September 5. Expect rankings to fluctuate considerably early in the season as the Massey Ratings system "learns" the relative strength of each 2021 team.
