ASC Men's All-Conference Teams/Awards Announced

Men's Soccer Awards Announced
RICHARDSON, Texas –– LeTourneau University junior forward Dillon Holt and University of Texas at Tyler junior defender Jake Urbaniak won player of the year awards to highlight the 2010 American Southwest Conference men's soccer awards, the ASC office announced on Thursday (Nov. 11) after a vote of the league's 14 head coaches.
Holt (Borne, TX / BHS) was named ASC Offensive Player of the Year after leading the league with 34 points, including a conference-high 14 goals in 17 games. Five of Holt's goals were of the game-winning variety, which also led the league.
Urbaniak (Fort Worth, TX / R.L. Paschal HS) was named ASC Defensive Player of the Year after spearheading a unit that allowed a league-low 11 goals in 16 games. Urbaniak, who guided the Patriots to the conference and regular season title, also chipped in five assists and two scores. He was named MVP of the ASC tournament.
Both Holt and Urbaniak were named to the ASC All-Conference First Team.
Texas-Tyler forward Elijah Shipman (Fort Worth, TX / Trinity HS) was voted ASC Offensive Freshman of the Year after scoring six goals, while Patriots defender Enoch Shipman (Lindale, TX / LHS) earned the title of ASC Defensive Freshman of the Year after helping a unit record nine shutouts.
Louisiana College junior defender Nic Philbot (Pineville, LA / Pineville HS) was voted ASC Men's Soccer Sportsmanship Athlete of the Year.
Texas-Tyler's Kenny Jones was chosen as ASC Coach of the Year after guiding the Patriots to a 12-3-1 mark and their second conference and regular season title in the last three years.
