#5-Ranked Garnet Escape Devils to Remain Unbeaten
(Swarthmore, Pa.) - The Dickinson College men's soccer team rallied to tie, but eventually suffered a 3-1 loss on the road at #5-ranked Swarthmore on Saturday night.
The Garnet struck first, scoring in the 20th minute as Fabian Castro finished a cross from Noah Sterngold.
The Devils answered on a free kick five minutes into the second half. A Swarthmore defender headed the kick back and Thomas Parkinson (Alamo, Calif./Westfild, N.J.) put the ball in the net after it was mishandled by the goalkeeper.
The Devils had chances in the second half, controlling play for a majority of the time. It was Swarthmore, however, who broke through to tally the game-winner. Morgan Langley connected with David Sterngold in the 87th minute to put the Garnet on top, 2-1.
Langley found himself ahead of the pack as the Devils were pressing everyone up in the final minutes. He received a pass from Micah Rose and scored at the 88:35 mark to secure the win.
Cody Hickok (Redding, Pa./Joel Barlow) turned in another strong performance in goal, making five saves on the night.
David D'Annunzio made one save for Swarthmore (8-0, 2-0).
The Red Devils (5-2-1, 1-1) return home to host Muhlenberg College on Wednesday at 5:00 pm.
