Western New England men's soccer team enjoys successful 12-day European tour

MILAN, Italy – The Western New England men's soccer team departed from Milan Tuesday (Aug. 16) after its successful 12-day European tour came to a close.
The Golden Bears compiled an impressive 3-2-1 record, which included a first-place showing at the Trofeo Citta' Di Mariano held August 14 in Mariano Comense, Italy.
WNE posted a pair of 1-0 victories against Cantu Calcio and Mariano Calcio in the tournament that was hosted by Mariano Calcio and supported by Dream Team Italy, who served as the tour operator for Western New England.
While in San Marino, Italy, coach Erin Sullivan announced that the team selected seniors Corey Howard (Hopedale, MA) and Eric Marcelino (Farmington, CT) and junior Bobby Jameson (Northbridge, MA) to serve as team captains for the upcoming 2011 season.
