Wesley Routs Nittany Lions

TOWSON, Md. - Three different Wolverines had multi-point efforts as Wesley College picked up a 5-1 win over Penn State Berks at the Goucher College Soccer Classic.

Thomas Yolain (Windsor Mill, Md./Randallstown) scored in the 12th minute to put the Wolverines (2-0-1) on top with a chip over the Nittany Lions' keeper off an assist from Dan Featherer (Logan Twp./Kingsway Regional).  

Less than six minutes later, Joshua Chelleh (Columbia, Md./Long Reach)scored the first of his two goals on the afternoon when Penn State's keeper turned the ball over at midfield.  Chelleh extended the lead to 3-0 after a feed from Michael Monticchio (Middletown, Del./Middletown).

In the second half, Featherer made it 4-0 when a through ball from Jacob Yaeger(Pocomoke, Md./Pocomoke) left a two on one for the Wolverines in the 59th minute.

Yaeger found the back of the net just over two minutes later off a throw in that left him with a one on one with the goalkeeper.

The Nittany Lions finally broke through in the 80th minute when Zach Alesi took an assist from Bryan Fellin to break up the shutout bid.

The Wolverines dominated play, outshooting Penn State Berks 31-6 on the afternoon.

Brian Zuber (Wenonah, N.J./Gloucester Catholic) stopped two shots in the game for Wesley.

After the tournament, Chelleh and Kyle Long (Delaware, Ohio/Buckeye) were named to the all-tournament team.

The Wolverines are back in action at Muhlenberg on September 7.
