Early goals undo Storm against Bethel

ARDEN HILLS, Minn. - Bethel found the back of the net two times in the first eight minutes and went on for a 3-1 win over Simpson on Friday evening.

Three different players scored for the Royals (4-0), who outshot Simpson 19-8 and led 3-0 by the 56th minute.

Mike Flanagan found Mark Lahart in the 66th minute, giving the Storm (1-2) their only goal of the contest. The loss is the second in a row for first year head coach Rick Isaacson's team.

Both Flanagan and Lahart put two shots on goal.

David Kim got the scoring started for Bethel in the fifth minute when he converted a penalty kick. Just over two minutes later, Kolten Fischer made the score 2-0, a margin which held until intermission. Brent Neihart added the third goal 10 minutes into the second frame.

Luke Aronow took the loss between the posts, making five stops in his 90 minutes. Leif Sundberg made four saves in the win.

Simpson looks to even its record tomorrow when it takes on Crown in a 4 p.m. kickoff.
