Bridgewater Blanks Ferrum, 3-0
BRIDGEWATER, Va. - Ryan Tavernaris scored one goal and assisted on another Saturday to lead the Bridgewater Eagles to a 3-0 victory over Ferrum in the Upper 90 Soccer Challenge In The Valley hosted by the Eagles.
The Eagles scored first on an early corner. Daniel Visone took the corner and his shot found the net for a quick 1-0 lead just three minutes in.
Bridgewater scored again 10 minutes later when Ryan Tavernaris found Sawyer Janes with a pass and Janes beat the Ferrum keeper for a 2-0 lead.
The scored remained that way until the 84th minute when Ryan Tavernaris scored off an assist from Nathan Tavernaris, giving the Eagles a 3-0 lead.
Bridgewater held an 18-13 edge in shots and an 8-7 edge in corners.
Bridgewater keeper TJ Martin finished the contest with six saves and recorded the shutout.
