Royals Drop 1-0 Decision At St. John Fisher Sunday
PITTSFORD, NY—Freshman Matt Silvi (Shenendehowa, NY/Clifton Park) scored a goal off of a corner kick early in the second half to lift St. John Fisher College to a 1-0 victory over The University of Scranton Sunday afternoon.
The win was the first for the Cardinals, now 1-3, while the Royals dropped to 0-2-2.
Scranton did hold a slight advantage in shots, 10-7, but the Royals weren't able to get a ball past Cardinal sophomore goalkeeper Kyle Metcalffe (Fairport, NY/Fairport), who finished with three saves to earn the shutout. Jamie Dillon (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown East) stopped four shots in goal for the Royals, who will return to action this Wednesday, September 14, against Ursinus College in Collegeville, Pennsylvania, beginning at 7:00 p.m.
