Hale powers Beavers past Owls
PRESQUE ISLE, Maine -- Jordan Hale (Falmouth, Maine) played a part in all three goals as the University of Maine at Farmington men's soccer team dispatched University of Maine at Presque Isle 3-0 in non-conference action this afternoon.
The Beavers (2-0) are schedule to host its home opener Wednesday against Bates College. The match is set for a 4:30 p.m. start. The Owls slipped to 2-2.
Hale's rebound putback gave UMF a 1-0 edge 6:12 into the contest and the junior finished off a breakaway at 19:26 for a 2-0 lead at intermission.
Luiz Ristow (Joinville, Brazil) finished off a Hale feed at 57:51 for the 3-0 final.
Derek Reilly (Hollis, N.H.) stopped two shots for UMF, which held a 9-7 advantage in shots.
Joshua MacKinnon made two saves for the Owls.
