COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The Wittenberg Tiger men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to the Tigers of Colorado College Saturday in the Rockies, moving to 3-2-1 overall on the season.

Wittenberg played Colorado College at it's home field in Colorado Springs, Colo., representing one of the longest in-season trips for the team in program history.

Colorado took a 1-0 lead in the 16th minute, and the score would remain for the next 50 minutes before Colorado was awarded a penalty kick. They converted to make it a 2-0 game.

Wittenberg was held scoreless despite 13 shots and a 7-5 advantage in corner kicks. Freshman midfielder Joe Halula (Springfield, Ohio/Catholic Central) led the Wittenberg lineup with three shots, while junior Marshall Rowland (Pewee Valley, Ky./South Oldham) checked in with two, accompanied by eight other Tigers with one each.

Wittenberg put six shots on goal, matching the six that Colorado aimed at senior goalkeeper Michael Lambeck (Dublin, Ohio/Coffman). Lambeck stopped four shots throughout the match.

Wittenberg takes on UC-Santa Cruz Sunday at 5 p.m. EDT in a neutral site match at the home complex of the Triple-A affiliate of Major League Baseball's Colorado Rockies, the Colorado Springs Sky Sox.
