Late Scoring Spree Sidelines CLU
ORANGE, Calif. - Down one player for a majority of the match, Cal Lutheran valiantly responded to nearly every challenge faced by the Chapman Panthers in Monday night's non-conference match-up.
Box Score: CU 3, CLU 1 - F
Allowing Chapman to score in the 37th minute shortly after having one of its players leave the match on a red card, the Kingsmen were able to eventually regain their composure to remain within striking distance throughout the next 32 minutes.
Three Chapman goals scored midway through the second half within a ten minute block of time created a deficit too large for the Kingsmen to overcome as that 4-0 Panther advantage ultimately became the final score of the game.
Kingsmen defender Enrique Zaragoza led CLU with two shots, forwards Raul Yepez, Kevin Tanner, defenders Timo Ros, and Brennan Redd each finished with one shot apiece.
Cal Lutheran (0-5, 0-1 SCIAC) will resume conference action at home against Caltech (0-4, 0-2 SCIAC) this Wednesday, kick-off at Mt. Clef Stadium will take place at 4 p.m.
