Colorado College Salvages Tie At Fort Hays State
Junior defender Nick Lammers scored in the 72nd minute to help Colorado College salvage a 1-1 tie at Division II Fort Hays State University in a non-conference game on Friday night.
Lammers found the net for the first time this season on a set piece off the foot of junior forward Matt Fechter, who picked up his team-leading fifth assist.
Fort Hays State opened the scoring in the 34th minute when Ricardo Yeverino beat CC junior goalkeeper Forrest Marowitz with a low shot to the right post.
Marowitz finished with a season-high six saves to give the Tigers a chance to rally.
Ryan Pakieser turned aside four shots for FHSU.
It was the fourth overtime game of the season for Colorado College, which slipped to 4-1-3.
CC played a man down for the final 14:47 after sophomore forward Lorenzo Pozzolini was given a red card early in the first overtime.
Colorado College puts its four-game unbeaten streak on the line at Nebraska Wesleyan on Sunday.
