UC, which had lost its last two games by the score of 1-0, was able to hold the Wilcats (5-5-1) scoreless in the physical contest.  Caruso made five stops in net for the Pioneers, including a few key saves in the second half, to earn his ninth career shutout.

Sophomore Jonathon Peterson executed a perfect give-and-go to set up McAllister for the only goal of the evening early in the first half.  The Pioneers outshot the visitors 18-8 on the afternoon, but only four of UC's shots were on net, as Malick Faye registered three saves for SUNYIT.

The Wildcat's were issued seven total cards, including a red card for their star player Diego Montaleza in the 78th minute, as SUNYIT was forced to play man-down soccer for the final 12 minutes.

Montaleza led the Wildcat's with three shots on goal, while the Pioneers' earned a 7-0 corner kick advantage on the evening.

UC moved its record to 6-1 against SUNYIT in the last seven meetings between the two squads.

The Pioneers remain in the hunt for their first Empire 8 Conference victory of the season on Saturday when they travel to Ithaca College to take on the Bombers at 1 p.m.
