MILWAUKEE, Wis. -- Eureka College senior forward Cody Halstead (Peoria, Ill./Richwoods H.S./Illinois Central) scored twice, including the match-winner in the 73rd minute, lifting the Red Devils to a 2-1 non-conference victory over Wisconsin Lutheran, Sunday afternoon in Milwaukee, Wis.

Halstead scored at 72:45 on an assist from sophomore Tom Moody (Arlington Heights, Ill./John Hersey H.S.) to break a 1-1 tie.  Halstead also scored the first goal of the match, an unassisted strike in the 25th minute that gave the Red Devils a 1-0 lead.  WLC's Jake Semmann tied the match at 1-1 shortly after halftime with a goal in the 56th minute on an assist from Mavric Otterstatter.

Saturday's performance pushed Halstead's career goal total to 15, moving past Serkan Bakirdan (2009) for third place on the all-time Eureka goal list.  Halstead, who has scored five times in 2011, needs two more goals to tie David Crady (2008-10) for second place in program history.  Sophomore goalkeeper Tyler Mumm (Monticello, Ill./Monticello H.S.) made six saves and earned the victory in net.  He now has four career wins in goal, sharing the all-time Eureka lead with Justin Horrer (2008), Jay Linsley (2009-10) and current teammate Nathan Mullins (South Duxbury, Vt./Harwood Union H.S.).

The Red Devils (3-8-0) will return to St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference competition Saturday at Greenville.  Kickoff against the Panthers is scheduled for 3 p.m.
