Blue Jay Men Retain League Lead, To Play Co-Leader
Fulton, Mo. – Westminster College moved to 8-3-3 overall and 4-0-0 in St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's soccer play with a 3-1 win over visiting Spalding University Saturday. The win sets up a key match with conference co-leader Fontbonne University (9-4-1, 4-0-0 SLIAC) Tuesday in Fulton.
The two teams played to a 0-0 stalemate in the first half, but freshman Andy Picha (St. Louis, Mo./Vianney) got the Blue Jays going with a goal in the 50th minute. Picha then assisted on a goal by sophomore Tyler Walker (St. Louis, Mo./Webster Groves) in the 71st minute and freshman Connor Hallrah (Columbia, Mo./Hickman) finished the Westminster scoring in the 75th minute. Spalding (1-12, 0-6 SLIAC) avoided the shut out with a late goal.
