Arvey Earns Offensive Player of the Week Honor from AMCC
PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Penn State Altoona freshman forward Brandon Arvey was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference's Offensive Player of the Week in men's soccer on Monday.
Arvey helped the Lions defeat La Roche College in the team's regular season finale last Tuesday to lock up the #4 seed before entering the conference tournament this past weekend.
In Penn State Altoona's important 4-3 overtime win over the Redhawks, Arvey scored the game-tying goal late in the second half, then notched the game-winner in overtime.
Then, when the teams met for a re-match in the first round of the AMCC Tournament on Sunday afternoon, Arvey came up with another big goal to give the Lions a two-goal cushion late in the game and seal a win for his team.
This is Arvey's first AMCC Player of the Week honor of his collegiate career.
