John Dettori Earns Share of NCAA Statistical Championship

Patchogue, N.Y. - Men's soccer player John Dettori finished tied for first in the goals per game category in the final NCAA Division III statistical rankings released by the NCAA today.  The junior tied with Manhattanville College's Eros Olazabal with 1.3 goals per game in the 2011 Fall season.  He finished in second place in points per game (2.95), total points (59) and total goals (26).

Dettori was named the 2011 Skyline Conference Player of the Year and won multiple ECAC Metro and Skyline Player of the Week awards this season.  His cumulative totals for the year were 59 total points, 26 goals and seven assists.

St. Joseph's men's soccer has had two other statistical champions in their history – Tim Trava (points per game – 2004) and Chris Kunzig (assists per game – 2007).
