Trine's Stewart Named MIAA POW in Men’s Soccer
ROYAL OAK, Mich. - The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has named Trine goalkeeper Chris Stewart its Defensive Player of the Week in men's soccer for games played through September 2.
Stewart, a sophomore from Rochester Hills, Michigan (Rochester), posted his first shutout as a collegian as the Thunder shut out Berea, Ky., 4-0. He also had a strong game in net with six saves, keeping his team in the game despite being outshot 17-6, in a 2-1 loss to Transylvania, Ky. Stewart combined to make eight saves in two games while facing 20 total shots.
