ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. An evenly played game had a happy ending for the Elizabethtown College men's soccer team Sunday afternoon. Sophomore Zach Hollinger scored 1:17 into double overtime as the Blue Jays defeated Johns Hopkins, 1-0, to pick up their first win of the 2012 season.

Hollinger's tap in front that beat Johns Hopkins' keeper Nick Cerrone was set up by a beautiful throw from the right sideline by junior defender Kyle Volk. Eric Borkowicz, who just checked into the game for the first time at the start of the second overtime helped it along as the pair recorded a double assist on Hollinger's second goal of the season.

Brothers Pizza Blue Jay Classic Defensive Most Valuable Player (MVP) Rodrigo Barrera made eight saves for E-town (1-2-1) in registering his first career shutout. Hopkins' Rob Heuler took Offensive MVP honors.

The JHU Blue Jays (1-2) held a 13-3 advantage in corner kicks. Five of their 13 corners came in the final 10 minutes of regulation or in the first overtime.

Cerrone stopped four shots in 101:17 of action.

Denison was named 2012 Blue Jay Classic Champions with nine points. Teams were awarded five points for a win, one point for each goal scored (up to three per game), one point for a shutout and two points for a tie. The Big Red totaled eight points with a win and three goals on Saturday, and then got their ninth point on a goal in a 4-1 loss to Kean earlier Sunday.

E-town, Kean and Johns Hopkins all finished with eight points in the tourney, amazingly, giving each a share of the runner-up finish.

Hollinger's three shots matched Heuler for the game high, while Elizabethtown midfielders Kyle Fowler and Shane Votto each attempted two. The teams were scoreless after 100 minutes, with most of regulation being played between the 18s. Hopkins were slightly more aggressive on the offensive front with 17 shots to E-town's 12.

Saturday's heavy rains forced the movement of E-town's game with Denison up to the quad practice field, and Sunday's games were also affected. Both matches were played on the old baseball field, between Ira R. Herr Field and Wolf Field, E-town's home for lacrosse and field hockey.

E-town will host Franklin & Marshall Wednesday in a women's/men's doubleheader at Ira R. Herr Field. The women's game starts at 4:30 p.m., with the men to follow in the Smith-Herr Boot Game at 7 p.m.
