SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz men's soccer team (2-2-1) was unable to get on the board, as they were blanked by Union (N.Y.) College, 2-0, Friday evening.

Sebastiaan Jansen scored once in each half for Union, his eighth and ninth goals of the season, bolstering the Dutchmen attack on their home turf Friday evening.

Sophomore goalkeeper Andres Montoya (Levittown, N.Y./Division Avenue) drops to 1-2-0 on the season with Friday's loss. He did, however, make a game-high three saves.

Sophomore forward Steven Browne (Carle Place, N.Y./Carle Place) nearly tied the game at one in the 20th minute, but his chance from six yards out went just wide of the net.

Despite the loss, the Hawks outshot the Dutchmen, 10-8, and held a 10-2 edge in corner kicks. Senior midfielder Mateo Cordini (Buenos Aires, Argentina/San Martin de Tours) led with three shots, including one on net.

The Hawks return home on Saturday, Sept. 15, for a 1 p.m. matchup with the College at Old Westbury at Alumni Field.
