New Jersey City Liberty Cup Score: FDU-Florham 4, Baruch 1
The men's soccer team lost a 4-1 contest to FDU-Florham in a tournament match of the 2012 New Jersey City University Liberty Cup played on Saturday afternoon in Jersey City, New Jersey.
FDU-Florham, a member of the Freedom Conference, jumped out to a 2-0 advantage after 26 minutes of play. The Bearcats quickly responded at 26:27 with Vincent Cruz scoring a goal off an assist from Oren Kozlowski to cut the deficit to 2-1.
The Bearcats suffered a red card late in the first half and had to play a man down the rest of the match. FDU-Florham took advantage by scoring two more goals in the second half en route to the 4-1 victory.
Overall, FDU-Florham outshot the Bearcats, 23-11, to improve their record to 3-2, while the Bearcats drop to 0-2-1.
Kozlowski, the CUNYAC Rookie of the Week, finished with four shots and one assist. Cruz totaled one goal and two shots. Arlind Stafaj had two shots on goal in the tough loss.
The Bearcats will return to action on Sunday at 12:00 pm with a New Jersey City Liberty Cup match against Keystone College from the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC). For live stats and free video, click here.
