Medaille Men Get Back on Track; Cruise Past Thiel

More news about: Medaille men's team

GREENVILLE, PA - The Medaille men's soccer team shook off the effects of its first loss of the season from the previous day by taking out their frustrations on Thiel College to the tune of a (9-0) thumping of the Tomcats on day two of the Tomcat Invitational.

The Tomcats will be happy to see George Tor leave town as he was responsible for the for the first four goals of the game.  Three of which were of the unassisted variety, while Alex Pollak assisted on the third of Tor's four markers.

The second half began with Tor netting his fourth goal and that would be followed up by a goal in the 62nd minute off the foot of James Turner which was assisted by John L. Smith to give Medaille a (5-0) advantage.  Twelve minutes would pass without any scoring following that.

In the 78th minute the Mavs would go on a four goal scoring binge over the next seven minutes that would put the game out of reach.  The scoring splurge would be started by Austin Tom who tallied an unassisted marker at the (77:21) mark.  That goal would be followed up by a pair of unassisted tallies from Pablo Ordonez just (39) seconds apart to give Medaille an (8-0) edge.  Sophomore Stephen Scott would wrap up the scoring in the 85th minute with another unassisted goal.

The Mavs outshot the Tomcats (25-6) overall and (16-2) on goal in the win.  The victory is credited to senior goalkeeper Nick Kurtz who stopped both shots that found their way on frame.  The Mavs are now (6-1-0) on the year as they prepare to open AMCC play by hosting Penn State-Altoona on Saturday (9/22) at 6:00pm at All High Stadium.
