Baruch Earns First Victory, Defeat SUNY-Old Westbury (3-2)
The Baruch College Bearcats earned their first victory of the season on Monday afternoon by defeating SUNY-Old Westbury, 3-2.
Oren Kozlowski, who has been named the CUNYAC Rookie of the Week three times this season, scored the first two goals and Christopher Peraltaadded the third to help the Bearcats to the non-conference victory against an opponent from the Skyline Conference.
The home team Panthers scored first at 28:50, but Kozlowski scored twice in a one minute span (31:45, 32:26) to help the visiting Bearcats take the 2-1 lead. Marat Gubaydullinassisted on the first goal and Peralta on the second in helping Kozlowski pull the team ahead on the scoreboard.
Peralta put the match out of reach with his own goal at 69:14 on a Kozlowski assist for the comfortable 3-1 advantage.
The Panthers scored their second goal in the final seconds of the match for a 3-2 final score.
Baruch will return to action on Wednesday, September 19, with their CUNYAC opening contest against rival Hunter College. Kick off at the Met Oval is scheduled for 6:00 pm.
