Medaille Men Move to (11-2-0) with Win Over Mt. Aloysius
BUFFALO, NY--The Medaille College men's soccer team returned home to battle AMCC opponent, Mount Aloysius at All-High Stadium Saturday night. After a hard fought battle, the Mavericks escaped with a (2-0) victory.
The Mavericks got the scoring going early, with Yggor Zignago scoring 4:49 in the first half. The goal came off of a pass from John L. Smith who was credited with the assist. The Mavericks seemed to carry the Mavericks in the first half as they saw numerous more chances following the opening goal.
Later in the first half, Pablo Ordonez added the insurance goal that the Mavericks were looking for. The goal came unassisted but allowed the Mavericks to play more conservative defense and protect the lead.
In goal, Nick Kurtz finished with (2) saves to preserve the shutout.
The Mavericks (11-2) will continue their homestand Tuesday at All-High Stadium against the D'Youville Spartans at 6:30 p.m.
