Wesley Blanks Centenary (N.J.)
DOVER, Del. – Wesley College's men's soccer team erupted for a 3-0 victory over Centenary (N.J.) on Tuesday night at Scott D. Miller Stadium as three different players scored for the Wolverines (3-8-2). The Cyclones fall to 6-6 with the loss.
Dan Featherer recorded the game-winner for Wesley in ninth minute as he took advantage of a Cyclones defensive miscue, and beat the goalkeeper on the right corner. Both teams did not score the remainder of the half and the Wolverines went into the break with a 1-0 lead.
The Navy & White dominated time of possession in the second half, outshooting the Cyclones, 13-2 in the period. Joshua Chelleh added an unassisted insurance goal at 65:50 while James Parrish found the back of the net off an assist from Jacob Yaeger in the 82nd minute.
Brian Zuber and Ryan Sanders split halves in goal for Wesley and Zuber made one saves.
Centenary goalkeeper Jesse Goleman stopped seven shots in the loss.
Marymount (Va.) hosts the Wolverines in Capital Athletic Conference play on October 13 at 4 pm.
