MAKE THAT FOUR VICTORIES
Over the weekend, the Pacific men's soccer team collected their fourth victory. On Friday, the Boxers scored in the last five minutes of the match to claim a 3-2 victory over Linfield. On Sunday, the Boxers could not find the back of the net as they took a 3-0 loss to Willamette. The Boxers continue Northwest Conference play with just five games left. This weekend, the Boxers travel to eastern Washington to take on Whitworth and Whitman. Pacific is currently tied for seventh place in the Northwest Conference with George Fox. Whitworth is currently first and Whitman is sixth in the NWC.

• Nick Rudella scored the game-winning goal in Friday's match against the Linfield Wildcats. Rudella leads the Boxers with five goals scored this season.
• After going seven games without scoring a goal, Quintin Love opened the scoring for the Boxers in Friday's match against Linfield.
• Kody Ganiko collected his first assist of the year to help the Boxers against Linfield on Friday.
• Alex Arrington scored his third goal of the season to help the Boxers take a 2-0 lead in Friday's match against Linfield.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
WHITWORTH
Whitworth is currently first in the Northwest Conference with a 7-0-2 record, 10-0-3 overall. Sean Bushey is in his 17th season as head coach of the Pirates. Over the weekend, the Pirates collected a 0-0 draw on Saturday against Puget Sound. On Sunday, the Pirates collected their seventh NWC victory at Pacific Lutheran 1-0. Freshman Samuel Engle and sophomore Rubby Ubben currently lead the Pirates with four goals apiece. Senior Kyle Novak owns a 8-0-3 record between the pipes, tallying 29 saves with a .935 saving percentage.

WHITMAN
Whitman is currently sixth in the Northwest Conference with a 2-5-2 record, 4-8-3 overall. Mike Washington is in his 15th season as head coach of the Missionaries. Over the weekend, Whitman went into overtime in both of their matches. On Saturday, the Missionaries took a 1-0 loss in the first overtime to Pacific Lutheran. On Sunday, Whitman held Puget Sound to a 0-0 draw. Junior Leland Matthaeus is leading the Missionaries with four goals scored and 46 shots with 13 shots on goal. Senior Michael Bathurst owns a 4-7-2 record between the pipes, recording 58 saves and two shutouts.

GAME-WINNER: On Friday, Nick Rudella (Jr., Sammamish, Wash.) scored the game-winning goal to claim a 3-2 victory over Linfield. Just four minutes before the end of regulation, Rudella controlled the ball in a crowded goal box, when he shot from five yards out into an open net to claim the victory for the Boxers. The goal marks Rudella's first game-winner of the season. Rudella leads the Boxers in goals scored with five. His last goal came against Linfield on Sept. 30. Rudella scored the only goal of the match in 4-1 loss. Rudella also leads the Boxers in shots with 32 and 16 shots on goal. Rudella is currently fourth in the Northwest Conference with his five goals.
SCORING WITH LOVE: After going seven games without scoring a goal, Quintin Love (Fr., Kailua, Hawaii) recorded his fourth goal of the season against Linfield on Friday evening. The Boxers opened the scoring in the 20th minute when Mark Watson (So., Clackamas, Ore.) crossed to Love, who shot from 15 yards out past Wildcat goalkeeper Scott Goodman, sending the Boxers with a 1-0 lead into the second half. The last time Love scored was on Sept. 9 against Oregon Tech. Love scored the game-winning goal of the match in the 20th minute, his third goal of the season. Watson fired first, but was shut down by Jessen. The ball rebounded back to Watson, who redirected it to Love in the penalty area to find the back of the net.
ASSISTING THE OFFENSE: Kody Ganiko (Jr., Makawao, Hawaii) collected his first assist of the season against Linfield on Friday evening. In the 50th minute Ganiko found an opening and crossed to Alex Arrington (So., Portland, Ore.). Arrington shot from 30 yards out passed Goodman to take a 2-0. Ganiko recorded his first goal of the season on Sept. 7 in 6-0 victory over Walla Walla. Just seven seconds later, Arrington found Ganiko, who would fire to the back of the net to make the score 2-0.
PRODUCING OFFENSE: Alex Arrington collected his third goal of the season on Friday evening in 3-2 victory over Linfield. In the 50th minute, Ganiko found an opening and crossed to Arrington. Arrington shot from 30 yards out passed Goodman to take a 2-0. Arrington scored back on Sept. 29 in 3-2 loss to Willamette. Jorge Mandujano (So., Corneilus, Ore.) saw a scoring opportunity as he crossed to Arrington on a free kick in the 56th minute. Arrington headed the ball past Willamette goalkeeper Brayden Calder to tie the match up 1-1. Arrington is currently tied for sixth in the Northwest Conference with three assists.

PACIFIC PICKED TO PLACE SIXTH: After posting a 5-12-1 record in 2011 the Boxers were picked sixth in a preseason poll of NWC coaches. The Boxers received 20 of a potential 64 points in the poll. Pacific Lutheran received five first place votes with Whitworth receiving two and Whitman receiving one. The Boxers were seven points in front of rival Linfield and seven behind Willamette.
