Thomas More Posts 3-0 Shutout Win Over Saint Vincent

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) - The Thomas More College men's soccer team defeated Saint Vincent College, 3-0, today (Tuesday, October 16, 2012) in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match at The Bank of Kentucky Field in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.

With the win, the Saints improve to 8-3-4 overall and 3-1-1 in the PAC.  With the loss, the Bearcats fall to 5-10-1 overall and 0-6-0 in the PAC.

Thomas More took an early 1-0 lead when senior midfielder Andrew Sullivan (Cincinnati, Ohio/Colerain) scored on a penalty kick at the 7:00 mark.  The Saints increased the lead to 2-0 at the 19:11 when senior forward Brad Baumer (Centerville, Ohio/Centerville) scored on a free-kick.

The Saints closed out the scoring at the 43:19 mark when senior midfielder Jacob Waldrop (Louisville, Ky./St. Xavier) scored on a free-kick for the final score of 3-0.

Sophomore goalkeeper Matt Kees (Covington, Ky./Scott) played all 90 minutes in goal to post the shutout win as he recorded three saves.

Thomas More out-shot Saint Vincent, 17-5, and won the battle of corner kicks, 6-0.

The Saints return to the pitch on Saturday (October 20) when they host Bethany College at 3 p.m. at The Bank of Kentucky Field.
