With the result, the Bearcats will be making their second straight appearance in the championship match, which is scheduled for next Saturday, November 3, at 7:00 pm, at Randall's Island Field #10.
The Bearcats will play Brooklyn College, which defeated CCNY, 1-0, in the second semifinal match of the evening. Brooklyn scored with four minutes left to win.
Oren Kozlowskiwas the star again scoring the first goal on an assist from Akil Georgein the 10th minute. George sent a pass over the top of the defense to Kozlowski, who raced towards the goalkeeper for the opening score. It was George's fourth assist of the current tournament.
Kozlowski scored his 13th goal of the season with under five minutes remaining in the first half. Victor Tlepshevsent a through ball that found Kozlowski open for a one-on-one shot opportunity past the goalkeeper for the 2-0 halftime lead.
Tlepshev put the game out of reach with 12 minutes remaining in the contest. He beat the goalkeeper with a solo effort to help advance the Bearcats into the championship match for the fourth time in team history.
"We played really well tonight in a big match against a quality opponent," said Associate Head Coach Dima Kamenshchik. "We are excited to be back to the championship and will be working hard all week to get ready for a tough match against another strong opponent."
