BOXERS LOOK FOR VICTORY IN FINAL MATCH
The Pacific men's soccer team fell twice over the weekend. On Saturday, the Boxers played a tight match with Pacific Lutheran on the Boxers' Senior Day. The Boxers scored two goals, but could not match the Lutes' three goals. On Sunday, the Boxers could not find the back of the net as they were shutout 2-0 by the Puget Sound Loggers. The Boxers are currently tied for seventh place with George Fox in the Northwest Conference heading into the final weekend of play. Pacific wraps up the 2012 season on Friday with a match against George Fox. Boxers are looking to end the 2012 season with a victory.

Nick Rudella scored the Boxers' two goals over the weekend in 3-2 loss to Pacific Lutheran.

Garrick Knowles collected his third assist over the weekend in 3-2 loss to Pacific Lutheran.

Michael Summers, Alex Arrington, Mark Watson, Garrick Knowles and Jorge Mandujano all rank in the top-10 in the Northwest Conference in different statistical categories.

• Seniors Antonio Madeddu, Kody Ganiko, and Cameron Davis were honored on Saturday for the Boxers' Senior Day.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
GEORGE FOX

George Fox is currently tied for seventh place with Pacific with a 2-11-0 record, 2-15-1 overall. Luis Del Rio is in his first season as head coach of the Bruins. Over the weekend, the Bruins were shutout in both Northwest Conference matches. On Saturday, Puget Sound shutout the Bruins 2-0. On Sunday, Pacific Lutheran shutout the Bruins 3-0. Luke Hammer is the current leader for the Bruins with his four goals. Elliot Davis has been the main keeper between the pipes for the Briuns. Davis currently owns a 2-12-1 record with one shutout and 39 saves. Davis has a .678 saving percentage.

PRODUCING THE OFFENSE:
Over the weekend, Nick Rudella (Jr., Sammamish, Wash.) produced the offense for the Boxers. He scored both of the two Boxers' goals on Saturday in 3-2 loss against Pacific Lutheran. After a foul on Pacific Lutheran in the 54th minute, Rudella scored the first goal for the Boxers off a penalty kick past Pacific Lutheran goalkeeper Joe Rayburn. Rudella's second goal came in the 81st minute, when Garrick Knowles (So., Roseburg, Ore.) took the corner kick for the Boxers. Knowles kicked it to a crowded six-yard box. The ball found Rudella as he headed it into the goal past Pacific Lutheran goalkeeper Sam Watkins. Rudella is leading the Boxers with seven goals and also ranks tied for third in the Northwest Conference with his seven goals.

ASSISTING THE OFFENSE: On Saturday, Garrick Knowles collected his third assist on the season in 3-2 loss against Pacific Lutheran. Knowles took a corner kick for the Boxers in the 81st minute, kicking it towards the crowded six-yard box to find Rudella, who headed the ball to the back fo the net. Knowles is ranked tied eighth in the Northwest Conference with three assists. Alex Arrington (So., Portland, Ore.) and Mark Watson (So., Clackamas, Ore.) are also ranked tied eighth with three assists. Knowles collected his first assist of the season in 3-1 loss to Whitworth on Oct. 20. Knowles assisted Babeck Ebadpour (So., Fairbanks, Alaska) for the only goal of the match. His second assist came on Sept. 30 in 4-1 loss to Linfield.

RANKING IN THE TOP-10: Five Boxers rank in the top-10 in different statistical categories in the Northwest Conference. Heading into the final weekend, Michael Summers (Jr., Beaverton, Ore.) ranks second among the conference in saves with 76. Summers also ranks eighth with a .667 saving percentage. Rudella ranks tied for third with his team-high seven goals. Jorge Mandujano (So., Corneilus, Ore.) ranks seventh with four assists. Arrington, Watson and Knowles all rank tied eighth with three assists. The Boxers rank second with 277 shots fired and also rank third with 85 saves.

GOODBYE SENIORS: On Saturday, the Boxers honored three seniors for the 2012 season. Antonio Maddedu (Sr., Milwaukie, Ore.), Cameron Davis (Sr., Eugene, Ore.) and Kody Ganiko (Sr., Makawao, Hawaii) all were honored before the Pacific Lutheran match. Maddedu did not play in the match, due to an early season injury. Ganiko and Davis both started the match. The Boxers were accompanied by their parents that made the trip here to Lincoln Park Stadium. The Boxers will play their final home match this Friday against George Fox.

PACIFIC PICKED TO PLACE SIXTH: After posting a 5-12-1 record in 2011 the Boxers were picked sixth in a preseason poll of NWC coaches. The Boxers received 20 of a potential 64 points in the poll. Pacific Lutheran received five first place votes with Whitworth receiving two and Whitman receiving one. The Boxers were seven points in front of rival Linfield and seven behind Willamette.
