Pipers Storm Past Crown

More news about: Hamline men's team

Talk about making a good first impression. Freshman Nicholas Simondet did just that, scoring two goals and adding a pair of assists as Hamline opened its men soccer season with a solid 6-0 win over Crown Friday at Paterson Field.

The Pipers scored three times in each half and outshot the Storm, 23-8, in the season opener for both teams.

Simondet took matters into his own feet early with a pair of goals three minutes apart midway in the first half. Jake Niemann later added a pair of tallies and Brandon De La Rosa and Krstian Sebion added solos.

Derrick Mora went the first 70 minutes in goal and Joey Matesi finished up to share the shutout.

Hamline hosts North Central Wednesday.
