Asiedu & Zarraga Score in, 2-2, Overtime Tie at Worcester State

Worcester, Mass.-Sophomore forward Jose Zarraga (Providence, RI) scored his first of the season, while junior striker Emmanuel Asiedu (Lincoln, RI) tallied for the third straight game, as Rhode Island College tied Worcester State, 2-2, in collegiate men's soccer action played at Coughlin Field on Wednesday evening. |

Freshman goalkeeper Chris Moura (Rumford, RI) made seven saves for the Anchormen (1-0-2) who remain unbeaten on the season. |

Asiedu, who tallied the game-tying goal vs. Ramapo on Aug. 30 and won it in overtime against TCNJ a day later, put the visitors on top in the 25th minute by converting a free kick from 25 yards out. |

WSU (0-0-3) senior forward Alex Wolfel (Unionville, CT) tied the game in the 45th minute by scoring on a feed by classmate forward Eugene Duah (Worcester, MA) from 15 yards out. |

Zarraga snapped the deadlock 11 minutes into the second half by banging home a corner kick that was taken by freshman midfielder Anderson Monteiro (Pawtucket, RI). |

A red card issued against WSU in the 72nd minute forced the Lancers to play the remainder of the game a man down. |

The hosts nearly tied the game with under 10 minutes left to play as freshman back Tanner Bzdel's (Southampton, MA) header bounced off the post. However, in the 88th minute, Wolfel netted the equalizer, his fourth of the season, on a breakaway to force overtime. |

RIC posted five shots in the second overtime period, but could not put home the game-winner. |

Worcester State sophomore goalkeeper Nick Zucco (Ludlow, MA) made three saves. The Lancers held the advantage in shots, 16-12, and corner kicks, 7-4. |
