Morrisville State posts 1-1 draw with Wells
AURORA, N.Y. – The Morrisville State College men's soccer team recorded a 1-1 overtime draw Saturday afternoon, on the road at North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) rival Wells College.
Chernor Barrie (Bronx, N.Y.) posted the lone score for the Mustangs early on, chipping the ball inside the right post off a corner kick by Danny Peckham (Webster, N.Y.) nearly five minutes into the contest.
Wells was able to even the score in the 24th minute, and kept the Mustangs off the board for the remainder of regulation, forcing the overtime period.
Both teams had ample chances in the extra frames, but neither could find the back of the net as the conference opener ended in a draw.
Rob Larkin (Clinton, N.Y.) recorded the tie for Morrisville State, saving three. Wells keeper, CJ Bayly made nine stops as the Mustangs held 10-4 advantage in shots on goal.
Morrisville State returns to the field tomorrow, hosting Baruch College at 1 p.m. on Drake Field.
