Juniet Leads Saints to a 2-0 Home Win Over Earlham
(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) - Sophomore forward Austin Juniet (Fort Thomas, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) scored two goals to lead the Thomas More College men's soccer team to a 2-0 win over Earlham College today (Wednesday, September 11, 2013) in a non-conference match at The Bank of Kentucky Field in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.
With the win, the Saints improve to 2-1 and the Quakers fall to 2-2.
Juniet scored the first goal of the match at the 3:10 mark off an assist from freshman forward Brian Runyon (Parkersburg, W.Va./Parkersburg). He added the second goal at the 83:00 mark unassisted.
Junior goalkeeper Matt Kees (Covington, Ky./Scott) earned the shutout win in goal as he played all 90 minutes and recorded one save.
The Saints out-shot Earlham, 15-4, including 5-1 on-goal. Thomas More also won the battle of corner kicks, 3-1.
Thomas More returns to action on Saturday (September 14) when it hosts Anderson University at 12 p.m. at The Bank of Kentucky Field.
