Old Westbury Defeats Baruch (2-1)
The Baruch College Bearcats fell behind early and never recovered in a 2-1 home loss to SUNY-Old Westbury on Monday afternoon at the Met Oval in Maspeth, New York.
The visiting Panthers (3-2) scored in the ninth minute and benefited from an own goal in the 21st minute to jump out to the 2-0 lead.
The Bearcats managed to cut the deficit to one goal in the 39th minute with Victor Tlepshevscoring off a Kevin Romeroassist into the box for the 2-1 score.
The Bearcats were unable to tie the match the rest of the way. The Panthers outshot the Bearcats, 20-13, to secure the road victory.
Tlepshev finished with five total shots, while Romero had four in the disappointing home loss.
The men's soccer team will return to action on Saturday, September 21, as they will begin their CUNYAC schedule.
Kick off at the Met Oval is scheduled for 11:00 am against John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
