Thomas More Falls, 1-0, to In-State Rival Transylvania
(LEXINGTON, Ky.) - The Thomas More College men's soccer team fell, 1-0, to in-state rival Transylvania University today (Tuesday, September 17, 2013) in a non-conference match at Thomas Field in Lexington, Kentucky.
With the loss, the Saints fall to 3-2 and with the win, the Pioneers improve to 5-2.
Transylvania scored the lone goal of the match at the 67:54 mark off the foot of Christian King.
Junior goalkeeper Matt Kees (Covington, Ky./Scott) suffered the loss in goal as he played all 90 minutes and allowed one goal, while recording one save.
Thomas More and Transylvania tied 5-5 in shots taken, but the Pioneers had a 2-0 advantage in shots on-goal. Corner kicks were tied at 2-2.
The Saints return to the pitch on Saturday (September 21) when they host eighth-ranked Ohio Northern University at 2:30 p.m. at The Bank of Kentucky Field in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.
