Oren Kozlowski scored twice and Victor Tlepshev had two assists to lead the Baruch College Bearcats to a 3-0 victory over the Bloodhounds of John Jay College of Criminal Justice on Saturday afternoon at the Met Oval in Maspeth, New York.

The Bearcats (2-5, 1-0 CUNYAC) out-shot the visiting Bloodhounds, 19-4, en route to starting their regular season conference schedule with a shutout.

Kyle Keague scored the first goal in the 32nd minute. He fought off a defender deep into the corner and shot the ball from an akward angle that flew into the upper right corner to the surprise of the defense.

Kozlowski scored the first of his two goals in the 61st minute by taking a back pass from Tlepshev and shooting it past the out-stretched hands of the goalkeeper for the 2-0 score.

The two players combined again for the third goal in the 79th minute. Tlepshev fired a free kick into the penalty area that Kozlowski, while out-jumping two defenders, headed in for the final goal.

The Bearcats threated the entire match and had two shots hit the post against the Bloodhounds (0-7-1, 0-1 CUNYAC).

Goalkeepers Helder Correia and Guy Sharav combined for the shutout.

Baruch, who play all CUNYAC matches the rest of the season, will resume action on Thursday, September 26, with a 5:00 pm contest at the Met Oval against the College of Staten Island.
