Tigers Start Too Slow in Loss at CMS
CLAREMONT — Alessandro Carotenuto scored his second goal and Zoe Johnson added a second-half score.
But the Occidental College men's soccer team fell too far behind to stay with Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in a 4-2 road loss on Saturday.
After spotting CMS four goals, Carotenuto scored in the 41stminute to make it 4-1 at halftime. In the second, Johnson scored his first goal of the game in the 61stminute, cutting the Stags lead in half.
Theo Atkinson played all 90 minutes in goal for the Tigers, making two saves.
Oxy falls to 1-6 overall and 0-4 in SCIAC play.
The Tigers return to action on Sept. 25, hosting Caltech at Jack Kemp Stadium at 7 p.m.
