Marlins Score Late to Down Quakers in Men's Soccer
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Virginia Wesleyan scored a late goal to edge Guilford, 1-0, in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) men's soccer contest Saturday afternoon.
Michael MacVane stopped nine shots for the Quakers (4-5-1, 2-3 ODAC) but Brian Cornell converted a shot from the left corner for the game's only goal at the 80-minute mark.
Connor Kirkham turned back all three shots he faced to earn the win for the Marlins (8-3, 4-1 ODAC)
The Quakers return to action on Wednesday, October 9th, when they travel to Lynchburg for a 4:00 pm ODAC tilt.
